Please don’t toss your July 4th stick flags! As America celebrates its 250th birthday, patriotic flags are flying throughout our community. When these celebrations are over, consider donating those flags to Consolidated WSC to help us make our hillside 9/11 memorial better than ever.
We are especially seeking 18-inch tall American stick flags, but we will gratefully accept and display other sizes. By giving your Fourth of July flags another purpose, you can help us build our biggest 9/11 memorial display yet. Every flag counts. What is happening? The Consolidated WSC, (PWS) ID TX1130031, will temporarily convert the disinfectant used in the distribution system from chloramine to free chlorine in some sections of our service area. The conversion is from 6/24/2026 through 7/24/2026, affecting only the RED highlighted areas of the map below. During this period, you may experience taste and odor changes associated with this disinfectant conversion (some customers refer to the odor as a "bleach" or "hospital" odor).
Why are we doing this maintenance? Public water systems are required to properly disinfect their water and maintain an adequate disinfectant residual in the distribution system. Chloramine, free chlorine combined with ammonia, is widely used as a disinfectant because it persists for long periods while also limiting the formation of disinfection by-products. Prolonged use of chloramine coupled with other factors such as high temperatures or stagnation, may result in the growth and/or persistence of organic matter within the pipes of the distribution system. This can hinder the ability to maintain an adequate disinfectant residual. A temporary conversion to free chlorine involves discontinuing the use of ammonia and increasing flushing to reduce organics and improve water quality.
Please share this information with all people who drink this water, especially those who may not have received this notice directly (i.e., people in apartments, nursing homes, schools, and businesses). You can do this by posting this notice in a public place or distributing copies by hand or mail.

Customers in the Liberty Hill and Augusta area no longer need to boil their water. This includes customers on CR's 1560, 1680, 1685, 1725, FM 3016 from CR 1685 to FM 227, and FM 227 from FM 3016 going West for 3.5 miles. All samples were clear.
