June 19th at 11:00 am is your deadline to submit protest letters to manager@ntvgcd.org regarding recent groundwater well permit applications. As you may know, two applications were submitted to the Neches and Trinity Valleys GCD to withdraw over 15 billion gallons annually from well fields in Anderson and Henderson counties. The applications reference an additional 11 wells in Houston county with unknown annual production volumes. The proposed wells would draw water from the same aquifers as most public water systems and private wells in our area. The volumes referenced in the Redtown Ranch Holdings application alone are well over 3 times the annual aquifer withdrawal for Houston and Anderson counties combined. CWSC is formally requesting a contested case hearing and encourages concerned residents and members to do the same. Learn more HERE.
